Isabela Pink Iguana

One of my favorite memories from Galapagos was our visit to ISABELA Island. It is one of the larger islands in Galapagos and it is the most natural. The main street of town is dirt, the marina is tiny, the beaches are lovely. We had a marvelous room on the 3rd floor overlooking the ocean and we could just walk right out onto  the beach to the many restaurants and bars along the waters edge.

One of the most colorful was the Pink Iguana Bar! Everything was painted Pink, of course, and we walked or rode our bikes through there many times. We even rode our bikes on the beach all the way back to our hotel- so marvelous!

The Pink Iguana Bar– def a hotspot!

Part of the beach is sandy and part is black lava flows, frozen in formation. Just gorgeous! We met so many great people there too. (wait for the next blog!) If I ever go back to Galapagos, I will most certainly spend more time on Isabela!

It was so fun to go back and look through all the adventures… this same day we got lost on our bikes, (and were rescued by locals), we saw marine iguanas in the water, a giant cemetery, and an amazing sunset with lovely night shots of the restaurants…. so much to explore and share. Stay tuned for future Blogs!
