Bubble Trailer goes to Bozeman Camera!

One of my favorite Northwest locations is Bozeman, Montana. Such a gorgeous spot, although I’ve only been there in the fall, when it is stellar weather and fall colors. I guess that would tend to make me slightly biased! But I also love the vibe of Bozeman Camera, a great little camera store whose owner is so creative and involved — He’s a genuine entrepreneur extraordinaire! Bozeman Camera’s success story has been well crafted by Marshall, the owner. I loved it that he not only came to our class and photowalk, he stayed to the end for s’mores too!

The whole day was amazing actually, because we woke up at sunrise so we could take the scenic route to Bozeman through Yellowstone Park and wow, what a great idea! We got some stellar images of Ms. BT by the foggy river and witnessed the amazing park in gorgeous morning light.

We got to Lindley Park in Bozeman about 2 pm for a quick scout—then went over to Bozeman Camera for our program on travel photography. It was great to have around 15 attendees, especially when it’s a free class so you have no idea how many will show! The highlight was the Lumix Camera Giveway, of course and our lucky winner here was very excited!

We then followed up our class with a meet and greet with Ms. Bubble Trailer, a few snacks and a photo walk. The light was very dull and sky was overcast, but we made the best of it and still got great images. We did a few studies in green, motion, textures, design and enjoyed the interesting sculptures at the park and adjacent Library. It was fun to show a mini demo on Wifi and SnapSeed while we were out there with nothing but drab skies… got a fun shot of dramatic skies thanks to snapseed!

On the way back, we were gifted with a lovely sunset and photographed the steel horse and horseman. Jonny and Marshall were the lightmen and transformed the dull horse with LED lights by ICAN and Photic.

We all went back over to the gazebo and did a light painting session with Bubble Trailer using a creative combo of LED NANlites, pavotubes by Nanlite, a few flashes, flashlights and streetlights in the park!  A few attendees had to go but we finished the evening off with safe s’mores and a lot of laughs with the last of the crowd!

It was a great event and a real treat to collaborate with good peeps in the industry! My only disappointment was that our favorite Lumix Guys, Mark Toal and Rick Jacobsen could not be there for the fun, but maybe next time!

Stay tuned for more adventures with BubbleTrailer and try to attend an event in your area if you can! We are giving away a LUMIXGX86 with 2 lenses at the camera store events (and SYNCUP) and lots of other prizes too!
