CelebrateMyCity: 13th St. Maple Shadows

Well, three years ago today I watched a most amazing movie, that inspired this project. A movie I will tell you more about later.

But tonight I want to share one of my favorite vignettes of MY City, Sacramento, California.

Nestled between the old and the new, the Downtown Sheraton and the Sacramento Convention Center on 13th Street between J and K streets, it’s the very end, (or perhaps the beginning) of the K-Street Mall, where only foot traffic is allowed for a few beautiful blocks. This is not on K-street, but around the corner on 13th.

What I love about this is the play of light and shadow on the building from the grand leafy maples. They gracefully line this street, sharing the sidewalk with 8-12 engraved cement benches. (I will certainly share these lovely artistic benches between the maples soon.)

But today I’m celebrating the sun; the shadow, the shape, the softness and safeness of walking down this street toward the center of so much creativity. Perhaps I should get the address or the stores that live here. I think it’s a coffee shop. But I might need to take another stroll to be sure!

I can’t wait to I show you ALL the treasures found within 3-4 blocks of here! Yes indeed, so many things to #Celebrate #inSacramento #CelebrateMyCity
