#7 Weather Sealed

It might not seem like much, but sometimes, being weather-flexible is the key to some terrific images.  I have photographed soccer games in the pouring rain for an hour in Texas with no problems. It was the only day and the only game I could attend- I’m so thankful that it was possible and we had a great time!

And then, in Hilton Head, we were shooting on the beach with a beautiful model and a killer sunset and it started to rain. All the other photographers went indoors, as did my husband with the LED Light because it was not water proof! BUT- since I could continue to shoot, I asked my model if she was willing to keep going in the rain! Obviously she said yes and we were rewarded with amazing images and video! Of course I wish I had a light on her for some of them, but actually it is beautiful in the almost-silhouette, too. This is one of my favorite videos from this year and I’m so glad my camera is weather sealed and lets me shoot in crazy weather! You just never know!

I also got some great images in the mist of the Niagara Falls. Now keep in mind, weather sealed does not mean waterproof! Dunking not advised! But you can rent an underwater housing to play with if you want to go that direction! That’s some serious fun, and I’ve got a blog coming soon on that too!

#SuzetteSez: Take the risk to shoot in extreme elements and you will be rewarded with dramatic images! #stretchyourself

Only the GH4 and GX8 models are weather sealed, as are the premium lenses! (35-100mm 2.8, 12-35mm 2.8, 7-14mm 4.0)

(video coming soon… gotta resize for wordpress first)
