A note for the skeptics: yes, this is for you. Still shooters and Videographers alike.

Of the 25 favorite features, 22 apply to “stills only” shooters, 20 apply to “just video” shooters, so at the most, you may see 3-5 features you may feel do not apply to you, depending on what camp you are in. But in the end, the Modern Photographer needs to be fluent in BOTH, so you might as well cash in on the bonus capabilities! There’s gold here for the taking, regardless of how you plan on spending it!

Mirrorless cameras are finally getting the press they deserve and many people are curious what all the buzz is about! Well, as a user of a Lumix Mirrorless system for over 4 years, I have lots of reasons I would never go back to a DSLR. There are SO many wonderful and useful features I simply cannot live without now! I have not only learned to love all the new mirrorless features, but also learned to respect the quality and performance of the Micro 4/3 format.

However, don’t get your guards up. No one is trying to talk you out of your current camera or comfort zone! Just listen and play! Technology is pretty amazing- and fun! When you are ready, you will want to try out a mirrorless camera. And eventually you may find it in your comfort zone and confidence zone. That’s when things are likely to change. But maybe not- there’s always room for both. Many people have two cars. A truck and a sporty car, or a luxury car and a work vehicle. A summer fun-day car and an old reliable work car. It’s ok to have more than one camera too. One that inspires you and you want to go play with, and one you fall back on and love like your old favorite shoes….
